Variables include parental education, marital status, home ownership, residential area and race/ethnicity. The National Center of Children in Poverty at Columbia University manages this database.
American Communities Project
This project reports on non-Hispanic white, non-Hispanic black, Hispanic and Asian population data. Use the data to learn about the racial/ethnic composition of a city or metropolitan statistical area or to determine differences in residential patterns of one ethnic/racial group in relation to another. The Lewis Mumford Center for Comparative Urban and Regional Research and Brown University’s Initiative in Spatial Structures in the Social Sciences created these reports.
American Community Survey
View data for a range of parameters, including income, fertility, commuting to work, homeowners with mortgages, poverty, relationships, education and employment. You can search for national and state-level data, as well as by region and place (available only for geographic areas with a population of 65,000 or more). Yearbook of Immigration Statistics
Straight from the Department of Homeland Security: A collection of tables displaying data on foreign nationals who were granted legal permanent residence, entered the United States on a temporary basis, applied for asylum or refugee status or were naturalized in the last fiscal year. Also included is information on the deportations and prosecutions of illegal immigrants.
