Spencer Carson

Graduate Student, Northeastern University
Experience and Highlights:
  • 06/2011 – 08/2011: Research on Solid-State Materials for Energy (Northeastern University). Studied dye-sensitized solar cells, electrochemical PEDOT deposition onto TiO2 nanotubes, used TiO2 nanoparticles to make dye-sensitized solar cells.
  • 06/2009 – 09/2009: Research Assistant, Nuclear Physics (Duke University). Determined relative efficiencies for high energy gamma rays and verified results by using Monte-Carlo simulations. Findings were published in Nucl. Instr. Meth. Phys. Res. A (In collaboration with Duke, UNC, and NCSU)
Activities:
  • Co-Founder and Leader of Gordon College Physics Club (Fall 2009-Spring 2010)
  • Member of American Physical Society (Fall 2010-present)
