President – John McGuinness | Electrical Engineering ’19
John served for six years as an Airborne Infantryman with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vicenza, Italy and 3/101st Infantry Division in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. During his time in the Army he deployed twice to Eastern Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
John is entering his third year as part of the SVO and is currently studying electrical engineering
Vice President – Paul J. Scherlek | Finance ’18
United States Army
Paul served for 5 years as an Infantryman with the 4th Infantry Division, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Ft. Carson, CO. During his tenure, he deployed 3 times in support of operation enduring freedom.
Paul is entering his 2nd year with the SVO and is currently studying finance.
Treasurer – Kyle Beliveau | Mechanical Engineering ’18
United States Navy
Kyle served as a Nuclear Machinist’s Mate in the United States Navy from 2007 to 2013. While stationed on board the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) he deployed to the western Pacific for Operation Tomodachi and the Gulf of Oman in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Kyle is pursuing his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering.
Secretary – Mike Pasqua | Biology ‘19
United States Air Force
Mike served in the United States Air Force as a Cyber Systems Operator with the 88th CS in Ohio, the 51st CS in Korea, and the 690 NSS Det 1 in Germany. He is expected to graduate in Spring of 2019 with a BS in Biology, after which he plans to continue into a Physician’s Assistant program.
Mike has been a member of the SVO for one year.
Andy McCarty | Director Center for the Advancement of Veterans and Service Members
For more than seven years, Andy McCarty has worked in Student Financial Services at Northeastern University. Prior to NU, he was employed in the Government and Community Affairs Department at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood, CA. From 2000-2004, Andy was enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at the Edwards AFB Flight Test Center in California’s Mojave Desert where he served as coordinator to the Blue Eagles Honor Guard, the busiest base-level honor guard in the Air Force. Andy deployed to Egypt in 2001 and Qatar in 2002.
