President – Max Spahn | Psychology ’17

Max served for four years as a radio operator with 5th Battalion 11th Marine Regiment aboard Camp Pendleton California. He deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in 2010 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Max is expected to graduate in the Spring of 2016 with a BS in Psychology.
He has been a member of the SVO for two years.

Vice President – Kyle Hart | Mathematics and Business ’17

Kyle served in the Marine Corps as a helicopter mechanic on the UH-1N (Huey) and AH-1W (Cobra) from 2008-2013. He deployed on the USS Bataan for the 22nd MEU in 2009.

Kyle has been a part of the SVO for two years .

Treasurer – John McGuinness | Electrical Engineering ’17

John served for six years as an Airborne Infantryman with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vicenza, Italy and 3/101st Infantry Division in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. During his time in the Army he deployed twice to Eastern Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

John is entering his second year as part of the SVO and is currently studying electrical engineering

Secretary – Kyle Beliveau | Mechanical Engineering ’18

Kyle served as a Nuclear Machinist’s Mate in the United States Navy from 2007 to 2013. While stationed on board the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) he deployed to the western Pacific for Operation Tomodachi and the Gulf of Oman in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Kyle is pursuing his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering.

Andy McCarty | Director Center for the Advancement of Veterans and Service Members

Air Force

For more than seven years, Andy McCarty has worked in Student Financial Services at Northeastern University. Prior to NU, he was employed in the Government and Community Affairs Department at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood, CA. From 2000-2004, Andy was enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at the Edwards AFB Flight Test Center in California’s Mojave Desert where he served as coordinator to the Blue Eagles Honor Guard, the busiest base-level honor guard in the Air Force. Andy deployed to Egypt in 2001 and Qatar in 2002.
