Bio: Emily Zimmerman graduated in 2011 from the University of Kansas where she received her PhD in Developmental Speech Physiology and Neuroscience under the supervision of Dr. Steven Barlow. She completed a two year postdoctoral fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA in the department of Newborn Medicine. Emily has worked in research in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for more than eight years. Improving short and long term outcomes for premature infants in the NICU is Emily’s passion. Additional passions include spending time with her husband, baby girl, and basset hound, and traveling, reading, and being outside.
