Hello NUSO,

The Spring concert is around the corner! Next Friday, April 13th we will take the stage. Our next rehearsal is tonight but please look at the schedule below to make sure you know what will be happening:

6:00 pm: Stravinsky, STRINGS ONLY

6:30 pm: Stravinsky, FULL ensemble

8:00-8:45: Elgar, FULL ensemble

8:45-9:00: OBOES ONLY

Also make a note that THURSDAY, APRIL 12th will be our dress rehearsal. Please be ready to play at 6:00 pm.

NU Bands is hosting a fun Trivia Night at Connor Larkins on Huntington this Sunday evening! Please come and partake! Even if you’re not a whiz at trivia, Sunday will be fun! As the date of our concert draws closer, I hope all the members are practicing their parts on their own more and more. April 13th is our concert and we have 4 rehearsals remaining! Please work hard and be on time to rehearsal.

As you know, last rehearsal we received a new piece of music to be performed for our Spring concert. You can now listen to a professional version on Naxos music library. The piece is complicated so I recommend to look over the part while listening to the music. Enjoy and please rehearse!! Stravinksy Symphony in C

Tonight we have orchestra rehearsal at 6:00 pm as usual. Please get there a little early so we can start by 6:00 pm. Copies of music will be handed out tonight for you to take home and practice with. (And please do practice your parts!)

Official NUSO T-shirts will be sold at rehearsal again tonight! Bring $10 with you if you’d like to purchase one.

Tour is fast approaching (February 17th) and if you’d like to join last minute please contact our Tour coordinator, Hailey.

Tonight we have orchestra rehearsal from 6:00-8:30 pm as usual.
If you are a new member dues will be collected starting tonight. Dues are $25 per semester and it goes towards music, instruments, and the orchestra concerts.
We have an open spot on the E-board as manager and will be holding elections tonight! Contact woturski@gmail.com if  you are interested and check out the Constitution (under documents tab) if you are curious as to what the manager is responsible for.

Welcome back orchestra members! Its a new year and a new semester which means a new season of orchestra is starting. Our first rehearsal is TONIGHT! It’s very soon so you might forget but please show your support tonight. Rehearsal starts tonight at 6:00 pm and runs to 8:30 pm.

CONGRATULATIONS to everyone in the orchestra for putting on an excellent and wildly successful concert. (We had close to 300 people there!) Thank you for your time and effort and thank you to all the family and friends who attended.

Now that it’s Finals Week and most of us are busy studying, take a break for some free food and games at WINTERFEST this Sunday, December 11th located in the Curry Student Center on the 3rd floor McLeod Suites.

If your wondering about next semester, the first rehearsal is Tuesday, January 10th. Hope to see you there! Have a relaxing break, happy holidays and a great new year!
