Digital Journalism Must Focus on Traditional Media Virtues, Balboni Tells NEFAC Luncheon

The “relentless focus” on building an audience must not overwhelm digital journalism’s obligation to report complex issues and investigate public and private corruption, GlobalPost co-founder and CEO Philip Balboni said Wednesday.

First Hamblett award winner Anthony Lewis dies

Anthony Lewis, the first recipient of the Stephen Hamblett First Amendment Award, has died. Lewis’s wife, Margaret H. Marshall, a retired chief justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, told The New York Times that Lewis, 85, the cause was complications from renal and heart failure.

Memorial service for Anthony Lewis

The former New York Times columnist who was honored by the New England First Amendment Coalition with its inaugural Stephen Hamblett First Amendment Award died on March 25, 2013.
A service will be held in Lewis's honor at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 23 at The Memorial Church in Harvard Yard.
