Mary Jane Wilkinson

Mary Jane Wilkinson is a retired newspaper editor and a founding member of the New England First Amendment Coalition. Ms. Wilkinson was an editor at The Boston Globe for 26 years and retired in 2009 as managing editor for newsroom administration. During her career at the Globe, she held a variety of editing positions, including deputy managing editor for Sunday, deputy managing editor for features, arts editor and living editor.

Before joining the Globe, Ms. Wilkinson was metro editor of the Eagle-Tribune in North Andover, Mass. She is a past president of the New England Associated Press News Executives Association. Ms. Wilkinson graduated from Simmons College with a B.A. in communications and Boston University with an M.S. in journalism. She currently lives in Scituate, Mass.
