Northeastern University journalism professor Dan Kennedy will read from and discuss his new book ”The Wired City: Reimagining Journalism and Civic Life in the Post-Newspaper Age” on Sept. 19.
Boston law firm Prince Lobel Tye LLP will host the event, which is co-sponsored by the New England First Amendment Coalition and the Society of Professional Journalists/New England Chapter.
Beer, wine and light hors d’oeuvres will be offered as Kennedy explores how the era of online journalism is transforming the role of the press in our democracy.
“Kennedy’s book is unlike any you will read on the business model crisis in journalism …. ‘The Wired City’ frames the big picture beautifully: Journalism as a practice will go on. But it takes will.” – Jay Rosen, blogger at PressThink and author of “What Are Journalists For?”
The reading, discussion and signing will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Prince Lobel’s offices, 100 Cambridge St., Suite 2200. Admission is free, but advance registration is required.
